How Can I Help?

How can I help?

As at January 2008, monthly running costs amount to around £2250. To give you an example of how these are made up:

Head teachers wage – £46pm
A class teachers wage – £28
A Cooks wage – £15
An Agricultural workers wage – £23
A Disability/Health worker – £40
School meals – £168
Old people meals – £100
Teaching materials – £65
Education grants – £66
Doctors fees – £38

Each school meal costs around £1/month, as does each elderly person’s mid day meal. Altogether, education costs are around £50pa for each child at the school.

We are fortunate that we have a strong group of Friends who donate monthly by standing order direct from their bank accounts. Each year we hope to expand the work that we do, but also try to restrict the growth of monthly overheads in line with growth in regular donations.

If you would like to set up a standing order donation, or increase an existing one, please contact Francis Muncaster, Hon Treasurer on 01677 425961 [email protected]

If you would like some ideas for fundraising events or activities, we have a list available.

School support is also very important to our work and many schools choose to send us donations knowing that every penny donated arrives at IRDT and is spent wisely and carefully. We have no UK administration costs as these are all met by the trustees’ personal donations.
